We offer many ways to connect undergraduates with faculty members, to the benefit of both. Students who have worked closely with faculty members consider that experience to be among the most important of their undergraduate years.
Many students are eager to work with professors on ongoing research. The simplest way to find a student employee is to post your position using the Work Space above. The jobs database leads you through the process. If your student is eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP), 70% of the student's wages are covered by the federal grant, leaving you with the remaining 30%.
"The Murray lab has given me a warm welcome and has made me feel a part of a family of researchers."-David Sol-Del Valle '04
If you'd like an undergraduate research assistant, the Faculty Aide Program will pay half the student's wages. This is a good choice for faculty members wanting to hire a student who is not eligible for the FWSP.
Finally, the Harvard College Research Program funds student-initiated research undertaken with faculty sponsors. Your role is to guide the student along the way. As you can see from the HCRP description, the program supports all levels of research and creative endeavors, not only thesis projects.
