Harvard College Grants for Term-time Public Service

HARVARD COLLEGE TERM TIME WORK-STUDY AWARDS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE, 2007-2008

PROGRAM:

During term time 2007-2008, undergraduates eligible for Federal Work-Study may apply for Public Service Work-Study Awards. These funds will be used to pay the employer's share of the student's Work-Study earnings up to each student's earnings ceiling. Students may conduct their own public service work under the sponsorship of Phillips Brooks House or they may arrange to work for an existing nonprofit community organization which is otherwise unable to pay the employer's share of the student's wages. Please Note: This Award may not be used to support students' volunteer work in Harvard College student public service organizations.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:

Phillips Brooks House and the Student Employment Office are jointly administering this program which expands public service options available to students during the academic year. Students undertaking their own public service projects must discuss the program with Zandra Kambysellis in PBH who will serve as the employer. Students working in nonprofit community organizations will be supervised on site by an employee in the organization.
